EYFS - Mrs L Moore

Welcome to Class 1 - Reception/Nursery

Class teacher: Mrs L Moore
Other adults: Miss C. Smith

Homework: Usually issued to reception aged children each Friday to be returned the following Thursday - content includes: phonics activities or home learning opportunities based on your child's previous weeks learning in class.

Reading at home

We are fortunate to have a variety  of reading schemes.  These include bug club and oxford reading tree.  This provides lots of choice  that caters for all interests.
Children work through schemes at own pace.
Books supplemented by others at same level as required.

 Routine:

Children bring home reading scheme books each week.
Please share these with your child, reading to them and encouraging them to read to you as they gain confidence each night for at least ten minutes.

Repetition is the key! Use pictures cues to support reading of harder words. You will soon see the benefits of this routine in your child's reading ability

Reading at home and in school can be recorded in their Early Years Journals.

P.E Days
P.E. takes place each Monday and Thursday.

Please find below the Nursery and Reception learning objectives for the next two academic years in all developmental areas of the Development Matters Document. Also, please find for each half term a medium term plan stating objectives in more detail and topic webs that will explain at a glance activities that your children will be experiencing within each topic.
