New Playground Opening Day May 18

Parent and Pupil Power provide Playground.
Pupils at Glazebury CE Primary school asked for a playground that had 3 things: could be used by all, helped to provide exercise and was FUN! Parents in the PTA rallied to the call and began by giving £3800, to start the project. Soil was dug, tree roots pulled and ground levelled. A local Contractor supplied the astro turf and a company sought to ensure that above all, the equipment selected was safe for the children to use.
An exciting trim trail was installed, alongside monkey bars (for the older pupils) and two wigwams for den making.
The PTA are determined to find the remaining £2500 needed to pay for the project, with plans for a WW1 Afternoon tea, and sports day events to name a few. One Parent Mr Campbell and Miss Farrington  completed the “Three Peak Challenge” and have raised over £800 to help and was asked to cut the ribbon at the grand opening held on Tuesday 8th May. Warrington Wolves “Wolfie” turned up to share the excitement with the children, with archery and fencing taster activities provided by Premier Sports. Children were heard to say “this is the best Play ever!”
